Swan Hill Town Hall will be transformed into a bar-themed tavern this February for a night of bawdy, energetic and fun Shakespeare.
TheShakesBeerSession will be held on Saturday, 22 February, with the team from Bar’d Works presenting their hilarious brand of Shakespeare in the comedy As You Like It.
Swan Hill Town Hall’s Sharon Brinkman said they were excited to transform the town hall for the show.
“As the people from Bar’d Works say, Shakespeare isn’t for hushed playhouses, it is alive, bawdy, cheeky, messy and energetic,” she said.
“So, we’re turning the town hall into a fun, interactive space where you can have a drink, bring along some food, and have a few laughs at this Shakespeare comedy.
“As You Like It is a story of cross-dressing, dodgy poetry, classic love songs, and plenty of ridiculous gags. The actors will be in amongst the crowd, and will have you belly laughing and singing along.”
Ms Brinkman encouraged people to bring food to share with friends and family. You can book individual tickets, or reserve a table of eight for you and your group.
