Further restrictions announced
Over the weekend the Victorian Premier announced further restrictions due to concerns about the recent rise in coronavirus cases in the state.
These restrictions include limiting the number of visitors you can have in your home to five, while outdoor gatherings have been reduced to a maximum group of 10 people.
Restaurants, pubs, libraries, museums and places of worship remain at a maximum of 20 people until 12 July, while gyms still have a maximum of 20 people per space.
Of course, these changes and proposed dates are subject to the advice of Victoria’s Chief Health Officer.
Please ensure you keep up with the latest information and announcements around coronavirus by visiting the Department of Health and Human Services.
More services reopen
This week saw the reopening to the public of more Council facilities, including the Swan Hill Regional Library, Swan Hill Leisure Centre Health Club and the Robinvale Leisure Centre.
As per the announcement of restrictions over the weekend, there will be a 20-person limit at these facilities at one time.
In terms of the Swan Hill Regional Library, in addition to a 20-person limit, there will be a one-hour limit per day for each person using the library. Customers who stay for longer than 15 minutes will be required to provide their name and phone number.
The library will be open during normal opening hours from 10am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday. However, it will remain closed on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings until after the upcoming school holidays.
Click and collect services are still available for people wanting to pre-order books prior to coming into the library.
A reminder that the click and collect service is also available for the Robinvale community. Community members can request library materials over the phone or online. When items are ready, an appointment will be made to collect them from the Mobile Library when it visits Robinvale on Thursdays.
In terms of the Robinvale Leisure Centre and health club facilities at the Swan Hill Leisure Centre, as mentioned above, the 20-person limit applies to the gym facilities at both centres. Showers and change facilities have also reopened at each centre.
Group Fitness class attendance will also be capped at 10 participants at both centres.
Several sanitation stations have been installed at the Robinvale and the Swan Hill leisure centres, and for the time being, the centres will only be taking payments via cashless transactions.
Belgravia Leisure will continue to monitor government and industry guidelines to ensure that their facilities remain safe for its staff and members over the coming months.
A reminder that the Swan Hill Pioneer Settlement opened its doors on 25 June. The site is open to the public from Thursday to Sunday from 9.30am to 4.30pm. Heartbeat of the Murray sessions will be held each night from Thursday to Sunday at 7.30pm. These sessions will be restricted to 20 people.
The Pyap will also cruise at 2.30pm from Thursday to Sunday, with an extra cruise at 10.30am on weekends and during the Victorian school holidays.
As things are a bit different due to coronavirus restrictions, the Pioneer Settlement is asking people to please ensure you book prior to your visit.
You can call the site on 1800 981 911 or email the Pioneer Settlement.
