Luca Devlin has been announced as the ambassador for Swan Hill’s Youth Arts Festival 2020.

Youth Arts Festival is an annual one day event celebrating the talents of young people in our community.

Swan Hill Rural City Council’s Youth Support Officer Will Burns said the festival will look different this year but will still feature live performances and virtual art spaces for talented young people.

“Luca Devlin submitted an application to be an Ambassador and attended an interview and it was clear that she was the right person for the job.

“Luca’s passion to create an event to not only bring the community together but also shine a light on her peers was what stood out the most,” he said.

Ms Devlin said she was passionate about lifting the confidence of young talent in our community.

“I feel privileged to have been selected as an ambassador for this event.

“I know that it’s going to be a challenging year in the role with COVID-19 but we still want to give young people the opportunity to be encouraged and appreciated,” Miss Devlin said.

“This event provides a platform to give young artists the recognition and acknowledgment they deserve,” she added.

Ms Devlin said she hopes that the community would get involved in the virtual event this year and help celebrate the arts of young people in our community.
