About your opportunity
This position is accountable to the Engineering and Capital Projects Manager for providing engineering expertise in sub-divisional developments, stormwater management, including assessing planning applications, drafting engineering conditions on planning permits, checking design plans and completing certification and compliance documentation. The position will also provide strategic direction and develop policy and standards in regards to engineering service provision.
All about you
The successful applicant will need to be able to demonstrate the following:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil or Water Resources Engineering or equivalent and demonstrable experience in engineering design and sub-divisional development.
- Ability to provide expert strategic decisions, advice and direction in relation to legislative obligations, engineering standards and requirements with regards to planning and building referrals for sub-division developments and stormwater management.
- Experience in the investigation, and preparation of detailed design plans, cost estimates, material procurement and project and contract management skills for municipal stormwater management works.
- Experience in applying Infrastructure Design Manual (IDM) and proven ability in undertaking hydrological and hydraulic modelling using DRAINS or similar tools.
- Possession of well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written in negotiation, facilitation, report preparation with the skills to influence, and explain complex concepts in a simple format.
- Ability to self-manage and prioritise your workload to meet tight deadlines.
- A current Police Check (obtained within last six months).

This permanent full time position attracts $88,018 per annum. In addition, superannuation is paid at 11%.
