Home hosts are being sought for the Seniors Tennis Tournament and Country Week Tennis 2022.
- Seniors Tennis Tournament will be held at Ken Harrison Reserve, Yana Street in Swan Hill from 9 – 21, January 2022
- Country Week Tennis will be held at Ken Harrison Reserve Yana Street in Swan Hill from 13 – 18, February 2022.
Swan Hill Region Information Centre are now looking for home hosts for these events.
Swan Hill Rural City Council, Economic Development and Tourism Officer, Cara Brown said with the influx of visitors expected our region’s motels are already nearing capacity.
“We would love to see some locals who might be away for summer holidays and their house is sitting empty, and who want to earn some extra savings after a pretty tough 18 months,” she said.
Ms Brown said the Tourism team were delighted that both Tennis Tournaments would be held in Swan Hill for 2022.
Last year’s situation was devastating for the Swan Hill economy, when Country Week 2021 was cancelled just days out from the event and especially for the Swan Hill Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
“We are excited to be working with the Swan Hill Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club to now host two tennis events and showcase our region to visitors.
“Putting a call out for home hosts will ensure that there is a suitable variety of accommodation styles to meet the needs of the influx of visitors coming to our region, which will give our local economy a much needed boost.”
“The Information Centre will be compiling a list of locals who have registered an interest in becoming home stay hosts,” she said.
Ms Brown said whether you have a spare room, two bedrooms or entire house available, if you would like to be a host – we would like to hear from you.
“Indicative rentals per night can start from $40 per night for a room, up to $400 per night for a whole house.
“I encourage community members to support these wonderful events, it will be a great chance to meet new people as well as earn a few extra dollars in the meantime,” she added.
