You can meet Graham – the only person designed to survive on our roads – this October at Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery.

The Gallery is excited to announce that Graham will visit the Gallery from 20 October until 26 November.

“Graham is a phenomenal character, he shows us what we might look like if we were built to survive a crash. He comes with messages about our vulnerability as road users, and with the ultimate aim of saving lives,” Gallery Director Ian Tully said.

Mr Tully said the community had already started to support the exhibition.

“Emergency services will help us to promote Graham’s road safety message, and we have partnered with K Driving School to give young people who visit Graham the chance to win a free driving lesson,” he said.

“We’re also excited that Graham will be at the Gallery at the same time as the Big Fish 3 exhibition – which showcases VCE student artwork from around our region – and with the Artists of the Murray Mallee exhibition.”

Graham is the work of world-renowned Melbourne artist Patricia Piccinini. Piccinini collaborated with the Transport Accident Commission, Royal Melbourne Hospital trauma surgeon Christian Kenfield and Monash University Accident Research Centre crash investigation expert Dr David Logan to create Graham.

Find out more about Graham at his website, and see him and the two local art exhibitions at the Gallery from 20 October. Entry is by donation. You can also visit call the Gallery on 5036 2430 for details.
