At the March Council meeting, Council endorsed for public consultation the Draft Swan Hill Car Parking Strategy. The Strategy primarily focuses on the Swan Hill Central Business District (CBD) but also considers a larger area with a radius of roughly 400 metres from the CBD.
Council is now seeking feedback from the community and business about the proposals that are included within the Draft Strategy. Some of the key areas Council would like feedback on are:
- Potential areas where additional car parking could be considered
- Thoughts on the areas within the Swan Hill Central Business District where it is most difficult to get car parks
- Thoughts on a ‘Car Parking Overlay’ that would require businesses within the Swan Hill CBD to pay a certain financial contribution for car parking that they are unable to provide on-site
