Swan Hill Rural City Council has an exciting and rewarding temporary part-time position available for an Enhanced Maternal and Child Health Nurse or Worker.

The position is to provide a high quality, comprehensive, trauma informed approach to contemporary families that promotes healthy outcomes for children and their families.

Service delivery will be shaped around meeting the needs of the diverse families that live within our community.

Applications from qualified Maternal and Child Health nurses or non-nurse practitioners with appropriate qualifications and experience are welcome for this position.

• Applicants for the Nurse role are required to be a Registered Division 1 nurse, a Registered Midwife and have additional qualifications in Maternal and Child Health.
• Applicants for the Worker role should have Tertiary qualifications in Children’s Services, Early Childhood, Social Work, Psychology or relevant field and some relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications with substantial experience.

This role will require a demonstrated commitment to ongoing education relating to Enhanced Maternal Child Health, Early Childhood Development, Trauma Informed Practice and experience working with diverse families with children aged between 0 – 6 years old is an advantage.

A current Police Check (within last six months) and a Working with Children’s Check are essential prior to employment.

What we can offer

Wages for this position will be dependent on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant. This is a temporary part time position until February 2025 working 30.4 hours per week. Flexibility will be required for service delivery after hours and on some Saturdays.
